About Me

My name is Johany Jutras

I was born and raised on a farm in a small town called Notre-Dame-du-Bon-Conseil, in the province of Quebec.

Since I can remember, I’ve always been into Photography an Graphic Design and appreciate this kind of digital art. When I was 14, I started working in order to be able to buy a Sony Mavica (floppy storage). I continued my evolution slowly but surely ever since. At the end of high school, I’ve started working for an Event Entertainment company. I was travelling all over Canada, so I decided to buy a Canon 20D. In my mind, I was on the right path to becoming a Professional Photographer just by buying this camera. It didn't take long for me to realise that I was wrong and that photography was way more complicated than what I was originally had in mind. So I concentrated my energy on the job I had for the event company, and I became an asset to the company.

In 2009, photography started to haunt me again. So I decided to take some classes with a professional photographer, to be able to use my camera properly and know what I am doing. I took 3 lessons, about 15 hours, and I’ve read a lot of forums and tutorials on the web…

Then I bought a Canon 7D, as my 20D wasn’t good enough for what I was looking for. I spent all spring shooting my brothers, who play Collegial Football, and I also did a website for their team. Every weekend, I was posting all the games pictures. Parents of their teammates started to ask me for pictures set. Since November 2010, I am Self-employed. I do web design and solution for small enterprises or for professional artists like me. I am also a Graphic Artist and have work on a couples nice projects since then. I do not aspire to become a professional photographer, I practice this passion with a lot of fun and I enjoy it.

I still work in event management. I am currently looking for new contracts or permanent job in this industry.
